The Poor Virgin of Nazareth

At the entrance to our Catholic Charities building is an image of Our Lady, sculpted in bronze by renowned Tulsa artist Rosalind Cook. The piece depicts the “The Poor Virgin of Nazareth.” The figure honors the profound poverty of the Mother of God while also revealing how poverty, enriched by grace and protected by humility, can become the well-spring of our holiness. The sculpture clearly idealizes all the natural attributes of motherhood from compassion and concern to nurturing and sheltering.

This auction item is an 18-inch maquette or replica of this sculpture. Installed on a swivel base, this maquette is a limited edition piece that will add both beauty and a symbol of devotion to one’s personal collection.
