Cooking Up Compassion ~ Feb. 9th!

The 8th annual dinner event and live auction, creating awareness of the work of Catholic Charities and raising funds for our mission of being Christ’s merciful love to those who suffer, will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013, in the Tulsa Ballroom at the Convention Center.  Doors open at 6 pm. Nearly 50,000 people were served last year, and services are provided to people of all faiths; 85% of the clients are not Catholic.

The evening begins with appetizers from 12 of Tulsa’s finest chefs while guests enjoy music by Mary Cogan. Dinner by Devin Levine, CEC, will follow, along with a fabulous live auction. Attendees will also be able to purchase raffle tickets for our new raffle! Raffle items include a $4,000 gift card to Moody’s jewelry, dining for 6 at 4 local restaurants, a Coach handbag, a weekend getaway for 2 at The Canebrake, and an iPad and accessories package.

This year’s honorary chairs are Tom and Karen Nally. The event co-chairs are Pat and Dana Baldwin and Jim and Mary Bush. Other committee members include: Mandy Atkins, Sheryl Boone, Barb Drotar, Stephanie Garrett and Laurie Perkins on the Auction Committee; Linda Woodard as the Auction Committee Chair; Kerri Bowen, Lucy Brower, Stephanie Cole, Kelli Collins, Annie Sullivan, and Denise Towsley on Decorations and Connie Leos and Annabelle Miller on the Chef Gifts Committee.  Our raffle committee includes Jacquelyn Bassett, Kathie Hannagan, and Jan O’Connor. Rich and Sally Minshall and Joe Moran are co-chairs of the Patron Committee, with help from Kathy S. Craft, Kent and Margo Dunbar, Randy and Jean Foutch, Tim and Melissa O’Sullivan, and Daryl and Linda Woodard.

Tulsa’s premier chefs include:  Chefs’ Chairman Devin Levine, CEC, of the BOK Center will be joined by Omar Galban, Jeff Howard, Jacob Hartlieb, Justin Thompson, Marcus Vause, Erik Reynolds, Michael Fusco, Tuck Curren, Jeffrey Stark, Matt DeWeese, and David Bykowski.

Master auctioneer Jay Litchfield will lead the live auction, featuring a trip to your choice of 11 destinations by Exclusive Resorts with transportation in a Phenom 300 jet, “Waterlily” sculpture by Rosalind Cook, dinner and wine for 8 at Mahogany Prime Steakhouse, tickets to the Notre Dame vs. OU game in South Bend, concert tickets to The Who and hotel stay at the Mayo, tickets to the OKC Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs game, plus more!
