Hurricane Relief Donation Information

So many have had their lives turned upside down by the damage and floods caused by Hurricane Harvey. Our prayers are with our suffering brothers and sisters in need.

Many have been asking how to help in the relief efforts. One way is to donate to Catholic Charities USA to support their humanitarian and recovery efforts. Click here for a direct link to their donation page or text CCUSADISASTER to 71777. You will also be able to donate through the second collection at your parish this weekend, September 2 & 3, 2017, in the Diocese of Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma. Donating directly to Catholic Charities USA is the fastest way for your money to get to those in need.

According to the Texas VOAD, (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster), a financial contribution to a recognized disaster relief organization is the most effective donation to make. Public and private sector support of these voluntary organizations with financial contributions helps to ensure a steady flow of important services to our residents who have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Unsolicited donated goods such as used clothing, miscellaneous household items, and mixed or perishable foodstuffs require helping agencies to redirect valuable resources away from providing services to sort, package, transport, warehouse, and distribute items that may not meet the needs of disaster survivors. If at any point we receive word of specific items that are needed, we will post an update to this message.

Thank you and God bless.
