Coordinator of Volunteer Engagement- Catholic Charities Mary Martha Outreach (CC-MMO) – Bartlesville

Position Description

This part-time, non-benefited, hourly position will be the primary contact responsible for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all volunteer program aspects of CC-MMO, under the supervision of the Director of Volunteer Engagement of Catholic Charities. This person’s main goal will be to sustain and continue building the established volunteer program.

Key Responsibility Areas

Pray daily for the needs of the poor, especially through the Sacrifice of the Mass, Morning Prayer and at Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
Direct and oversee all volunteer program functions of CC-MMO.
Work closely with CC-MMO Director on requirements and fulfillment strategies
Begin building relationships with existing volunteers and staff members of CC-MMO.
Coordinate and assist with volunteer-related management training.
Promote CC-MMO’s volunteer program and recruit volunteers throughout the community in Bartlesville and surrounding areas, including the Diocese of Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma, as well as other churches and organizations.
Motivate, recognize and reward volunteers regularly and appropriately.
Work with Catholic Charities’ Social Media Coordinator to set up and maintain a CC-MMO Facebook group and contribute to Catholic Charities’ social media accounts.
Implement Catholic Charities’ structure and processes for recruiting, screening, orientation and initial training for incoming volunteers. This will align with Catholic Charities’ Volunteer Engagement Policies and Procedures.
Daytime hours with some evening and weekend work required for events, excluding holidays.
Create and maintain a safe environment for volunteers.

Key Skills

Able to articulate Catholic teaching with a commitment to its application in the job function.
Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must be a self-starter with experience in volunteer management, human resources, professional recruitment or training a plus.
Must have good relational and customer service skills.
Accuracy and attention to detail with ability to maintain confidential information and records.
Experience in problem solving, conflict management and decision making.
Must be a team-oriented person.
Ability to lift 20lbs, bend, stoop, sit and stand for long periods of time.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Experience with Raiser’s Edge or Volgistics software a plus.
