Dustin & Rachel’s Letter

Dear Birthparent,

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and learn a little bit about our story. You will always be in our thoughts and prayers as you embark on this difficult time in choosing adoption for your unborn child. Please know that you are deeply admired for your bravery and selflessness required of you in making this difficult decision. We are honored that you might consider choosing the two of us to be your child’s adoptive parents.

We are just basic everyday people with a lot of love to share. Our family story began to unfold after meeting in college with both of us pursuing teaching degrees. Having an instant connection, we became the best of friends before that friendship blossomed into today’s amazing relationship. Ever since our wedding day there has been an eagerness to start a family of our own and watch our child live and grow while seeing the world through their eyes. However, we struggled after finding out we couldn’t make that happen. After two years of enduring expensive fertility treatments we had to settle with the reality that it just wasn’t meant to be. At times it felt like it would be easier to just give up on the idea all together. Giving up has just never been a part of either of our personalities. So rather than throwing in the towel, we have kept pressing forward in our journey and look for adoption to be part of our story.

Together, we have come to that place of excitement to just sit back and see what God has in store for us. The adoption process will bring a little blessing into our lives and we look forward to raising a happy and healthy child and giving them every opportunity needed to truly thrive in this world. Whether it is little league games or dance recitals in our near future, our family can’t wait.  We are looking forward to getting to traveling and experience the world we live in, share our love of sports, hanging out with our large family and circle of friends, and playing with our two dogs.

When it comes to parenting, we want to instill a strong moral compass in the child entrusted to us. It will be important to us to teach our little blessing about God and raise him or her up to be a person of integrity and sound morals living by Godly principles. Our child will be loved unconditionally. We will celebrate their accomplishments and pick them up when they feel defeated. Whether it is a high five, a hug, sound advice, or even a listening ear we will be there to see them through it and help them become whatever it is THEY want to become. Our job will be to love and support them in a way they can grow and fulfill whatever dream that God would sow into their heart.

We can’t wait for the right match to come our way. Thank you again for taking the time to read our letter. We look forward to the day we get to meet you should you choose us.

Praying for you each step of the way,

Dustin & Rachel
