Jesse & Amanda’s Letter

Dear Friend,

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about us and our family as you make the difficult decision of who will parent your child. We know that the journey you are embarking on is going to be hard, and we commend you for your selflessness and your bravery.

We have known for a while that we would eventually grow our family through adoption. We are not able to conceive our own children, but we have the heart and passion for adoption and we are excited to begin building a family. We originally met in 2000, and lost touch soon thereafter. While we went our separate ways and went through life separately, we never forgot about each other. Almost exactly 10 years later, we reconnected. A few emails and text messages back and forth for a few days transitioned into our first date. We learned that, after 10 years, we only lived a mile from each other! We had dinner and we talked so much, that all we did was drive. We drove and drove and talked and talked and eventually ended up in Kansas! We decided it was best that we turn around and head back to our houses – but it didn’t stop there. Two years later we got married. Four years after that, we excitedly decided that it is time to start our own family.

The love and respect we feel for you already is overwhelming. We cannot imagine the difficulty of this decision and the type of courage it takes to choose the family who will parent your child. We want you to know that, without a shadow of a doubt, we will love your child beyond all measure. We will spend our lives loving your child and supporting your child as they grow into adulthood and build their own family. And we will always be praying for you and being thankful for you; not just during this process, but for the rest of our lives. We hope and pray that you will find us to be all that you hope for your child.

All of our Love,

Jesse and Amanda
