Emergency Assistance

At Emergency Assistance, our mission is to be Christ’s merciful love to those who suffer by providing the Corporal Works of Mercy.

Emergency Assistance provides food, clothing and social service assistance to 55,500 people annually. Catholic Charities is no longer offering financial assistance for rent and utilities. Instead, we are offering one-on-one mentoring to help those we serve improve their lives in a holistic way and regain stability. If you would like to apply for the program, please complete a Mentoring Ministry Application by visiting us during business hours. (Tuesday through Friday from 9am-2pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm-6pm, or the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 9am-11am)

Other programs are offered seasonally, including Coats for Kids, Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets, and, if available, Christmas toys, school supplies, fans and air conditioners. All services are provided without regard to race, religion, nationality or gender.

What do I need to apply?

All forms of assistance require identification.

To receive assistance with food and clothing, come to Catholic Charities in person during regular hours (Tuesday through Friday from 9am-2pm, Tuesdays from 4pm-6pm, or the 3rd Saturday of each month from 9am-11am) and bring an ID for everyone in the household.

Please note that Emergency Assistance closes from 11:30am to 12:15pm so that clients, volunteers and staff may attend our daily scheduled Mass.

Copies of prescriptions may be required if approved for medication assistance. No assistance will be given with narcotics or mood-altering medications.
