Michael Spradlin DDS poses with Captain Supertooth. Dr. Spradlin received the “Oral Health Hero Award” from Delta Dental of Oklahoma Oral Health Foundation.

Dr. Michael Spradlin is a true hero to those he serves…and he was recognized today by the Delta Dental of Oklahoma Oral Health Foundation. Dr. Spradlin received the very first Oral Health Hero Award for his service as a volunteer dentist to Catholic Charities and other organizations. Foundation Manager Terrisa Singleton and Delta Dental’s Captain Supertooth presented Dr. Spradlin with his award. The Delta Dental foundation also presented a check to the dental center for $36,500, part of which is for operations and $11,500 is for a 1:1 Challenge Grant to be used for dental equipment. As Volunteer Dental Director for Catholic Charities’ Blessed Mother Teresa Dental Services since planning began in 2008-2009, Dr. Spradlin led the steering committee and acquired most of the donated equipment for the dental care center.  He has provided thousands of hours of dental care to thousands of patients at no cost to them. In August he changed his role from director to strictly a volunteer dentist so he could care for patients needing dentures.  .

Blessed Mother Teresa Dental Services provides free general dental care and restorative services to economically-challenged patients without dental insurance or other access to dental care.  Services are provided by volunteer dentists and hygienists, led and supported by Dr. Jennifer Cook and three staff.

The dental care is provided in a multilingual environment (Spanish and English) without consideration of ethnicity, religious affiliation or nationality.

As resources permit, services provided include:
Examination and diagnosis
Emergency relief of pain (extractions)
Dental hygiene services
Restorative care
Removable full and partial dentures

For people needing immediate pain relief or extractions, no appointment is required. Please arrive between 3 pm and 3:30 pm on Tuesdays for our extraction clinic. A limited number of patients will be seen, as determined by the dentist in charge, starting at about 5 pm.
